There is this young and beautiful girl called Hilda that I met in a hospital ward when I had gone to visit my mother. What struck me about her was that during visiting hours when all other patients were happy to see their loved ones, this girl had no-one visiting her. So we developed a friendship and we would share with her what we had taken to our mother. I continued visiting her even after my mom was discharged and I learnt that she had (and normally gets) severe asthma attacks.

Other than that, it turned out that she is an orphan and lives with her grandmother who is also asthmatic! We are pretty close now and I have visited them at home and her at school and this has enormously helped this wonderful girl. At other times, I have helped pay her hospital bills, buy her drugs and send her pocket money for use when she is in school.

Now that the schools are out, she is staying with me and my family (with permission from her grandmother) and I believe this is also helping her a lot. She happily calls me and my husband Mom and Dad and thank God my two daughters love her too.

I would love to see this girl get much more help than I and my family are able to and welcomes any output from everyone out there. Help!
